Berkshire jobs could be created with plans to convert a former car dealership in Earley into a restaurant and hotel.
According to Get Reading, BnD Dining are waiting for planning permission to transform an old KIA dealership into a 120-cover restaurant and 14-bedroom hotel.
Over 50 parking spaces will be made available for clientele and 23 jobs could be created in the region.
Project leader and director of BnD Dining, Ian Glyn, commented: “It is going to be very exciting. In Reading we have done the Bel and Dragon and it is going down that sort of route with an open grill and a lot of theatre and very eclectic menu designed to appeal to people who want to come in for a one-course meal or three course blow out.”
In a planning statement promoting the advantages of the development, the company highlights that a hotel and restaurant replacing the derelict site will enhance Earley’s image.
The glamorous restaurant will serve high standard meals as well as alcohol and will try to capture a “warm atmosphere”.
Alex Anderson, from Pegasus Planning Group, wrote in a report about the development: “Given the tough economic climate, it is understood that the site has not attracted a significant degree of interest from potential buyers.
“It is therefore welcomed that an applicant in BnD Dining's position is able to secure a deal with the landowner should this planning application be permitted.”
