Credit crunch ''boosts financial advisor jobs''

Financial advisor jobs are gaining a boost due to the credit crunch as debt-hit Brits seek guidance, it has been revealed.

Manchester Evening News reports on the fortunes of Kensington Financial Management Consultants.

The Trafford-based firm helps consumers to address their finances, providing 120 financial advisor jobs at present.

Over the remainder of 2009, however, this figure is expected to rise by a further 100 or so vacancies.

Stuart Parkin, company founder, tells the publication: "We, as well as other debt management specialists and finance advice websites, are seeing an uplift in business."

He adds that the company expects its client base to top the 25,000 mark by Christmas as more people enter into debt management plans.

The firm says that it recruits on a rolling basis and offers the chance for real career progression to individuals who believe in "delivering excellence as standard".

Potential applicants are also told that Kensington Financial Management Consultants considers itself a forward-thinking employer which offers modern work opportunities.

Morgan Jamison, Careers and Jobs UK marketing manager, adds: "We are all looking to manage our finances better as we become more concerned about the state of our economy, so naturally the demand for financial advisors is becoming greater. This may well be a good career change for those in the banking and finance industry who have been among those hit hardest by the recent collapse of some of the major banks and finance companies."
